The Department of Defense Industry at Gyeongnam Information University held a practical special lecture aimed at fostering talent in the defense industry sector, taking steps to strengthen students' employment capabilities.


The Department of Defense Industry at Gyeongnam Information University recently hosted an industry special lecture titled "K-Defense Industry Insight." This special lecture was organized to provide vivid, real-world information from the defense industry field and to enhance students' understanding of the sector.

The lecture was held under the theme "How Far Have You Gone in the Defense Industry Field? - From the Military to Society." The speaker, Joo Byungsoo from the defense company WithPS, introduced case-based methods for expanding military service experience into the civilian defense sector.


Instructor Joo shared practical content based on field experience, including types of jobs within defense companies, strengths and areas for improvement for those with military backgrounds, corporate perceptions of military experience, and practical interview tips, which were well received by the students.


Lee Jiyeon, head of the Department of Defense Industry, stated, "The experience and career built in the military are extremely valuable assets in the defense industry field," and added, "We will continue to enhance students' employment competitiveness through collaboration with various defense companies in the future."


The Department of Defense Industry at Gyeongnam Information University was newly established this year and focuses on practical, career-oriented education tailored to those who have completed military service. Current students, composed of both active-duty and discharged military personnel, receive support to grow into talents equipped with practical skills and strategic thinking required by defense companies, going beyond military studies.


The Department of Defense Industry will begin recruiting new students starting in September.
