Special Lecture: "The Path of a Leader, Arise! Shine Your Light!"
The Gwangju Employers Federation announced on June 10 that it will hold a special lecture for the 1688th Friday Breakfast Forum on June 13, inviting former Gwangju Mayor Kang Un-tae to speak on the theme "The Path of a Leader, Arise! Shine Your Light!"
The forum, which will take place in the Convention Hall on the third floor of the Holiday Inn Gwangju Hotel, will feature lectures on the following topics: ▲The Source of Life, the Universe ▲Arise, Shine Your Light ▲Human Rights Records That Shined on the World ▲Realization of a Citizen Self-Governing Community ▲Core Keywords for Leaders ▲Cases Achieved Through Earnest Requests ▲Occupation (Work) as the Nutrient of Life ▲Service Gives Much More Than It Receives, among others.
Former Mayor Kang served as the 6th and 11th Mayor of Gwangju. He was also a member of the 16th and 18th National Assembly, Minister of Home Affairs, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, contributed to the inscription of the May 18 Democratization Movement records on the UNESCO Memory of the World Register, established the Gwangju Human Rights Charter and developed human rights indicators, successfully hosted the 2015 Summer Universiade, built the KIA Champions Field, and promoted Mudeungsan to national park status, leaving behind many achievements for the citizens.
Yang Jinseok, Chairman of the Gwangju Employers Federation, stated, "Former Mayor Kang Un-tae established the Gwangju Biennale during his term, combining localization and globalization to open a new horizon for Korean culture and arts, setting a model for a new dimension of pioneering cultural activity. This will be a great opportunity to learn about his transformative leadership, which maintained a centrist stance in administration and politics."
