Latest Credit Scoring Model E-Index 4.3 Applied
On June 10, online investment-linked finance company 8Percent announced that it has begun on-lending linked investments in partnership with several savings banks, including Koryo, Smart, and MS Savings Bank.
For this linked investment, 8Percent applied its latest personal credit scoring model (CSS), the E-Index 4.3. The structure was designed to provide both strong profitability and stability to participating financial institutions.
8Percent does not view this collaboration as a short-term funding measure, but rather as a starting point for expanding mid- to long-term trust in on-lending finance and growing the institutional investor market.
To this end, the company conducted a thorough review of key operational elements, including asset soundness, transparency of the investment structure, and risk diversification systems. 8Percent has firmly established an operational foundation that can meet institutional investors’ needs for profitability and sustainability.
Chief Executive Officer Lee Hyojin stated, "As we launch linked investments, we will contribute to improving digital channel accessibility for our partner savings banks and strengthening credit soundness management. Going forward, we aim to create a virtuous cycle in which not only savings banks but also card companies, capital firms, banks, and insurance companies enter the on-lending market, ultimately fulfilling our core goal of addressing financial blind spots."
Meanwhile, since the legalization of on-lending in 2022, 8Percent has achieved a 52% increase in outstanding loan balance and 350% growth since registering as an on-lending business. During this period, the total outstanding loan balance in the industry decreased by 16%. 8Percent's delinquency rate stands at 3.07%.
An 8Percent representative commented, "Among on-lending companies with diversified portfolios, including personal credit, real estate, and securities accounts, we are the only one to have achieved both an increase in outstanding loan balance and an improvement in delinquency rate at the same time."
