SGF 2025 was held in Los Angeles, USA, from June 6 to June 9 (local time). This year, six major Korean game companies?Nexon, Netmarble, NCSoft, Kakao Games, Neowiz, and Pearl Abyss?participated, showcasing the growing presence of Korean games.
Nexon announced the Season 3 "Breakthrough" trailer for its looter shooter "The First Descendant" and revealed the release date (October 30) for its new PvPvE-based title "ARC Raiders." The company also teased new content such as Axion Field, 8-player raids, and hoverbike riding, signaling a direct focus on the North American console market.
Netmarble unveiled a trailer for the open-world RPG "The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin" and began pre-registration. "MonGil: Star Dive," developed with Unreal Engine 5, announced a global closed beta test (CBT) schedule targeting North America and Japan, aiming to attract both existing fans of the original and new users.
Kakao Games released a new trailer and global test schedule for the dark fantasy action MMORPG "Chrono Odyssey." The upcoming CBT, which will run from June 20 to June 23, will be conducted via Steam.
NCSoft presented its global plans for "Blade & Soul Heroes" and "Blade & Soul Neo," both expansions of the Blade & Soul IP. "Blade & Soul Heroes" is set for a simultaneous launch in 185 countries this September, while "Blade & Soul Neo" will add a new class, "Magician," later this month.
Neowiz drew global gamers' attention with the surprise release of the expansion pack DLC "The Prelude" for "Lies of P," a title that has become a leading example of the soulslike genre.
An industry official commented, "This SGF served as a stage to announce the full-scale entry of K-games into the console and PC markets," adding, "We are seeing a clear trend of genre diversification tailored to Western preferences, moving beyond the traditional mobile-centric approach."
