Yoon Appears in First Rebellion Trial After Election... Remains Silent to Questions

The 25th Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judge Ji Guyoun) held the sixth trial hearing on the morning of the 9th regarding former President Yoon's charges of leading a rebellion and abuse of power. On this day, former President Yoon, dressed in a dark suit, pink tie, and with his hair parted 2-to-8, headed to the courtroom at around 9:58 a.m.

Former President Yoon did not respond to reporters' questions such as, "What is your view on the presidential election results?", "What is your position on the special prosecutor's office, which you vetoed, now about to be established?", and "Did you actually order lawmakers to be dragged out?"

During the trial, as in the previous session, testimony continued from Lee Sanghyun, former commander of the 1st Airborne Brigade of the Army Special Warfare Command (Brigadier General). At the hearing on May 26, Brigadier General Lee testified that on the day of the emergency martial law, he heard from Kwak Jonggeun, then commander of the Army Special Warfare Command, that "the president ordered lawmakers to be dragged out, even if it means breaking down the doors."
