In honor of Patriots and Veterans Month and the 70th Memorial Day, a meaningful event was held at the Samsung Lions Stadium to pay tribute to Indian War veterans.

Daegu Regional Veterans Office is holding an event honoring Colonel Naya, an Indian War veteran, at the Samsung Lions Stadium.
On this day, the ceremonial first pitch was thrown by Dr. Pavashi Mohan, Colonel Naya's daughter, while his grandson, Aditiya Mohan, served as the honorary batter. Together with the spectators, they paid tribute to the sacrifices made by their father and grandfather.
Colonel Naya was dispatched to Korea in 1950 as the Indian representative to the United Nations Korean Commission, and died in a landmine explosion near Waegwan, Chilgok County, North Gyeongsang Province. His remains were cremated in Beomeo-dong, Suseong District, Daegu, and his spouse was later interred at the same site.
The Colonel Naya Memorial, erected in 1950 with public donations, was designated as a national memorial facility by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs in 2003. Memorial services are held there every Memorial Day, and it also serves as an educational site for local youth about veterans' affairs.
Various side events were also held at the stadium. At the veterans pop-up store inside Samsung Lions Park, digital veterans-themed goods and "Bobo" character souvenirs attracted the attention of visitors. Pamphlets introducing the history of the independence movement in the Daegu and North Gyeongsang regions were distributed in celebration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation.
Additionally, a promotional booth for the "Veterans Dream for Everyone" campaign was operated to guide the public on how to easily participate in veterans donations in their daily lives. Anyone can make a donation for veterans through the designated portal.
Kim Jongsul, head of the Daegu Regional Veterans Office, said, "It was a meaningful occasion to remember and express gratitude to foreign war veterans together with the spectators at the Samsung Lions game. We will continue our efforts to ensure that honoring veterans becomes a cherished value in the daily lives of our citizens."
