Global resource circulation company DS Danseok announced on June 5 that it held the "2nd The Healthy Carbon Diet Campaign" in celebration of World Environment Day.
DS Danseok organized the campaign to fulfill its responsibilities regarding biodiversity and environmental and social responsibility, as well as to contribute to the local community through environmental cleanup activities. More than 10 DS Danseok employees voluntarily participated, receiving plogging kits (bags, tongs, biodegradable plastic bags, etc.) and carrying out environmental cleanup activities around the Sihwa Industrial Complex and Okgucheon near the company’s workplace.
The campaign also has significance as it joined a global action campaign commemorating World Environment Day, which is hosted by the Ministry of Environment. A DS Danseok plogging participant shared, "Through the plogging campaign that started last year, I learned about the company’s environmental and social responsibilities. Although the activity was challenging due to the hot weather, I felt a sense of fulfillment seeing the streets become cleaner."
This year’s World Environment Day event was co-hosted by the Ministry of Environment and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and took place in Jeju from June 4 to June 5.
