[Click e-Stock] "Green Plus, Biggest Beneficiary of New Administration's Smart Farm Policy"

On June 5, IV Research evaluated Green Plus, a smart farm company, stating, "Given the new administration's proactive policies supporting overseas exports, Green Plus is highly likely to be the biggest beneficiary of K-smart farm exports."

IV Research also noted on this day, "The new administration's smart farm policy will unfold in directions such as building new innovation valleys, providing loans and support for individual smart farms, and supporting overseas exports," and assessed that these policies would be favorable for Green Plus. Last year, Green Plus entered the Australian smart farm market, signing a total of three smart farm construction contracts worth 80 billion won. In December of that year, the company also signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the University of Queensland in Australia to establish an Australian smart farm innovation valley. Green Plus is also maintaining a partnership with Daisen, Japan's largest smart farm company, for annual smart farm supplies exceeding 1 billion yen.

The report further stated, "The company possesses the top innovation valley references and technological capabilities in Korea, making it highly likely to secure large-scale orders for new innovation valleys as well." It added, "Since building an individual smart farm requires a significant investment of 3 billion to 5 billion won, loan and support policies for smart farms will also make Green Plus the primary beneficiary."

As a result, strong financial performance is expected. IV Research forecasts that Green Plus will achieve sales of 120 billion won and operating profit of 10.5 billion won this year. These figures reflect two Australian projects worth approximately 55 billion won, as well as increased B2B and B2C smart farm orders in Korea. The company also indicated that estimates could be revised upward if additional orders are secured in the second half of the year. IV Research added, "The main contract for the Australian innovation valley, signed with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the University of Queensland, is also expected to be finalized this year, which should enable strong growth to continue beyond 2026."

President Lee Jaemyung has previously pledged to promote the spread of smart agriculture as a key strategy for responding to the climate crisis and ensuring food security. The plan is to expand K-smart farms as a national strategic industry. In Korea, smart farms are operated mainly around four innovation valleys located in Sangju, North Gyeongsang Province; Gimje, North Jeolla Province; Goheung, South Jeolla Province; and Miryang, South Gyeongsang Province. Green Plus is the leading smart farm operator in Korea, having built most of these innovation valleys.
