This internship selected four students from Korean medicine colleges nationwide who are interested in Korean medicine R&D and the development of standard clinical practice guidelines. The program was held over a total of 40 hours, from May 26 to June 4.

The selected students participated in both theoretical education and hands-on experiences, including external review practice for standard clinical practice guidelines, tours of the main center in Gyeongsan and the Daegu Herbal Medicine Production Center (GMP facility), training on building public eCRF, attending continuing education courses by the Association of Korean Medicine, and completing CPX content on the Han-e-Campus platform.

Through these activities, students gained a multifaceted understanding of Korean medicine policy, research and development, and the process of developing standard clinical practice guidelines. Participants expressed a high level of satisfaction with the practical, work-focused training that is difficult to experience at school.

Hwang Dahee (Sangji University) shared, "It was a great help in setting my career direction to see and hear firsthand about the clinical practice guideline development process and actual policy research sites, which are difficult to encounter at school."

Lee Junhyeok, Head of the Korean Medicine Innovation Technology Development Division at the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development, commented, "I hope this internship helps students deeply understand the importance of evidence generation and clinical standardization in Korean medicine, and supports their growth as key figures in the advancement of the field."

The National Institute for Korean Medicine Development plans to continue offering a variety of educational programs to foster professional talent in Korean medicine.
