Six Lanes in Both Directions,
2.1 Kilometers in Length
Cheonan City in South Chungcheong Province announced on June 4 that Himang-ro, a road connecting Buldang-dong and Tangjeong-myeon in Asan, will open to traffic at 7:00 p.m. on June 5.
Himang-ro was constructed by Asan City and LH to alleviate traffic congestion caused by the development of a new city, with construction starting in 2021. The road features six lanes in both directions and has a total length of 2.1 kilometers.
Himang-ro extends from Buldang-daero to Hosan-ri in Tangjeong-myeon. The city expects the road to serve as a foundation for alleviating chronic congestion by dispersing traffic between Buldang-daero and Beonyeong-ro, as well as for establishing a broader metropolitan living area.
Kim Seokpil, acting mayor, stated, "The opening of Himang-ro marks the starting point for creating an integrated urban living area where Cheonan and Asan can grow together, and for establishing a leading model of the Chungcheong Megacity. We will continue our efforts to expand the metropolitan transportation network in the future."
