Minho Choi, Mayor of Sejong City, announced on June 4 that he would pursue close cooperation in line with the new government's policy direction through a congratulatory message to President-elect Jaemyung Lee.

In his congratulatory message, Mayor Choi clearly expressed his hope that this presidential election would serve as an opportunity to overcome the severe political polarization between camps and move toward a more unified society.

He went on to say, "Together with 400,000 citizens of Sejong, I sincerely congratulate you on your election as President. I hope our country will wisely overcome the current crisis and that all citizens will move toward a unified society."

He added, "As the de facto administrative capital of the Republic of Korea and the center of government operations, Sejong City will work closely with the new government to ensure that the city's role, balanced regional development, and the realization of local autonomy are aligned with the national development strategy." He also stated, "I hope that the completion of the administrative capital and the construction of the CTX metropolitan transportation network, which were presented as presidential campaign pledges, will be pursued sincerely within the term."
