The world's top YouTuber, MrBeast (real name Jimmy Donaldson), who has over 400 million subscribers, revealed that he plans to borrow money from his mother to pay for his wedding. On June 4 (local time), People magazine reported, "MrBeast said he needs to get married to his fianc?e but doesn't have enough money, so he will have to borrow from his mother."
MrBeast is reported to earn between $600 million and $700 million (approximately 825.8 billion to 963.4 billion KRW) annually through revenue, partnerships, and merchandise sales. His net worth is estimated at about $1 billion (approximately 1.3745 trillion KRW), but he reinvests most of his earnings back into production.
However, on June 1 (local time), he posted on X (formerly Twitter), "I have almost no money on hand because I reinvest everything," and added, "I think I will spend about $2.5 billion (3.4385 trillion KRW) on content this year." He continued, "I'm borrowing money from my mother to cover the upcoming wedding expenses," but also noted, "On paper, the value of the businesses I own is significant."
MrBeast regularly posts a variety of content on social networking services (SNS). His content is characterized by offering large cash prizes. He is also the host of the reality show Beast Games, where he awarded the first season winner $10 million (about 13.745 billion KRW) in prize money.
According to reports, he previously stated in an interview that he would hold his wedding at a place where family and friends could spend time together. He added, "Because I've worked so hard, I haven't taken many vacations, so I plan to enjoy a close-knit atmosphere with family and friends on a remote island," and said, "I'm not considering a lavish wedding."
