Program Open to 60 University Students
On June 4, the city of Yongin, Gyeonggi Province announced that it is recruiting 60 university students to participate in the "Summer Administrative Internship Program," which allows students to gain administrative experience at city hall and other government offices during the summer break.
The administrative internship program is designed to provide university students with opportunities to experience the work environment of administrative agencies, helping them explore various career paths, including employment.
The recruitment will select 40 general applicants and 20 priority applicants. Priority will be given to students who are basic livelihood security recipients, those from low-income families, children from single-parent families, registered persons with disabilities, children of national merit recipients, and children of those eligible for veterans' compensation.
Any university student who is registered as a resident of Yongin as of the announcement date is eligible to apply. Students who have previously participated in the administrative internship program are not eligible.
Interested applicants can apply from June 9 to June 13 by visiting the Yongin City Hall website and navigating to the "Job Information - University Student Administrative Internship Program" section. Successful candidates will be selected through a public lottery on June 17.
Selected students will perform administrative tasks for 8 hours a day, excluding holidays, for 20 days from July 4 to July 31. The hourly wage is 11,670 won, and snack expenses will also be provided.
A city official stated, "This internship will provide an opportunity to experience various fields of work in administrative agencies, including city hall, and to deepen understanding of local government administration."
