[Tomorrow's Weather] Rain Expected in Some Areas on Election Day... Daytime Highs 21~28°C

Mostly Cloudy, Gradually Clearing from Late Afternoon

On Tuesday, June 3, which is also the day of the presidential election, the weather across the country will be mostly cloudy with occasional raindrops in some areas, but it will gradually clear up from late afternoon.

Rain is expected in southern Gangwon and the Jeolla region until dawn, and in the Gyeongsang region and Jeju Island until the morning. In northeastern Gyeonggi, rain will continue from morning to afternoon, while in central and northern Gangwon, it will persist from morning until evening.


The expected rainfall for June 2 and 3 is less than 5mm in northeastern Gyeonggi, southern Gangwon, and North Jeolla; 5 to 10mm in central and northern Gangwon, Ulsan, and inland South Gyeongsang; and 5 to 20mm in Gwangju, South Jeolla, Busan, the southern coast of South Gyeongsang, Daegu, North Gyeongsang, Ulleungdo and Dokdo, and Jeju Island.


The morning low temperatures are forecast to range from 14 to 17 degrees Celsius, and the afternoon highs from 21 to 28 degrees Celsius. Major cities are expected to see the following ranges: Seoul (17~25°C), Incheon (16~21°C), Chuncheon (16~25°C), Daejeon (16~26°C), Gwangju (16~25°C), Sejong (16~25°C), Daegu (16~27°C), Busan (17~24°C), Ulsan (15~25°C), and Jeju (15~22°C).


Fine dust concentrations are expected to be at 'Good' to 'Moderate' levels nationwide. However, southern Gyeonggi, Yeongseo in Gangwon, Daejeon, Sejong, and North Chungcheong are expected to experience 'Poor' levels until the morning.


From dawn to morning, some areas in the Jeolla region may experience fog with visibility less than 1 kilometer. From the afternoon, strong winds with instantaneous speeds of around 55 kilometers per hour (around 70 kilometers per hour in mountainous areas) are expected along the west coast, in mountainous areas of Gangwon and northeastern North Gyeongsang, and in some inland regions.


In the outer southern waters of the West Sea, the southern waters off Jeju Island, and the outer eastern waters of the South Sea, winds will be very strong at 30 to 60 kilometers per hour and waves will be very high until the morning.


Wave heights in the coastal waters of the East Sea, West Sea, and South Sea are expected to be 0.5 to 1.5 meters. In the offshore areas (within about 200 kilometers from the coastline), wave heights are expected to be 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 3.0 meters in the West Sea, and 1.0 to 2.5 meters in the South Sea.
