Dongmyung University announced that Rubber Boots won the Grand Prize at the 2nd Dongmyung University President's Award Middle and High School Band Competition, a global youth music contest.

At the finals held at Dongmyung University on May 31, a total of 12 teams showcased their talents. The President's Award (Grand Prize, 1 million won) was awarded to Rubber Boots, a joint team from Dongnae Horticultural High School, Buniel Arts High School, Busan Yebit School, and Kyungwon High School.
The Excellence Award went to Injoyears, a joint team from Busan Seo Girls' High School, Jeonggwan High School, Sungmo Girls' High School, Dongnae Horticultural High School, and Geumjeong High School. The Merit Award was given to Patient from Gaeun Middle School, both of which also drew attention.
The Encouragement Award was presented to four teams: CKC (a joint team from Busan International Film High School, Busan Visual Arts High School, Gyeongnam Goseong Music High School, and Samsung Girls' High School), Spectrum (Jangmok Arts Middle School), Daehakgaja (a joint team from Eonyang High School and Shineon Middle School), and Cheongmong (a joint team from Busan Munhwa Girls' High School and Isabel High School).
Rubber Boots rearranged the famous pop song 'Just the Two of Us' in a jazz style and impressed the audience with their skilled performance, featuring distinctive solo parts from each member, earning enthusiastic applause.
The finals were attended by Lee Sangcheon, President of Dongmyung University; Na Seunghak, Dean of the College of Creative Talent; Choi Sungjin, Dean of Student Affairs; and Kim Sungsoo, Chairman of Edheart NGO. Local members of the National Assembly, Joo Jinwoo and Lee Heonseung, sent congratulatory letters to the event.
Lee Sangcheon, President of Dongmyung University, encouraged the participants, saying, "Let us make this a stepping stone for outstanding young artists to advance onto the world stage."

The competition was organized and sponsored in cooperation with the World Federation Against Drugs, Edheart NGO, and Ictus Entertainment (CEO Lee Kyuman). Over 300 students from more than 80 middle and high schools applied, and after preliminary screening, a final 12 teams (about 60 participants) advanced to the finals.
