A Platform for Public Procurement Consultations
with Local Companies to Be Held at Arpina in July
Busan Urban Corporation (BMC, President Shin Changho) is accelerating efforts to promote mutual growth with the local economy by conducting all 24 facility construction projects it has commissioned this year, worth a total of 30.1 billion won, through regionally restricted bidding.
As of the end of May, Busan Urban Corporation announced on June 2 that it has fully implemented regionally restricted open competitive bidding for all public construction contracts valued at 100 million won or more but less than 5 billion won, thereby enhancing transparency and fairness.
To block illegal paper companies, the corporation is conducting “on-site inspections of prospective contractors” and is strengthening fair contracting by selecting only companies with proven construction capabilities as contract partners.
In the second half of the year, the corporation will continue to hold its “In-house Public Procurement Competition,” as it did last year, and on July 15, it will host the first-ever “Local Mutual Growth Public Procurement Consultation Fair” among public corporations and agencies in the Busan area. This consultation fair will be held at Arpina and will feature individual booth consultations between 14 demand institutions from the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region and local companies.
President Shin Changho stated, “We will continue to foster a fair and transparent contract culture as a responsible public institution that contributes to revitalizing the local economy and keeps its promises to citizens.”
