Yoon Heesook Criticizes Yoo Simin: "The One Who Borrowed My Notes... Shameless Academic Elitism"

Yoon Heesook, head of the Yeouido Institute of the People Power Party, sharply criticized writer Yoo Simin's remarks about Seol Nanyeong, spouse of People Power Party presidential candidate Kim Moonsoo, calling them "a problem of twisted sexual consciousness and shameless academic elitism."

On May 30, Yoon posted on her Facebook page an article titled "Mr. Yoo Simin, are you that proud of your Seoul National University diploma?" In the post, she shared an anecdote from her time as an economics student at Seoul National University with Yoo Simin, who was her senior.

She wrote, "In 1991, Yoo Simin, a returning student whom I had never seen in class, waited outside the lecture hall and approached me immediately after class. Out of the blue, he pleaded with me to 'help him graduate' and asked to borrow my lecture notes, saying that helping an outstanding person like himself was a patriotic act."

She continued, "I've never regretted lending my carefully written notes to him as much as I do now. To him, women are just meticulous note-takers?people to be used."

She went on, "He managed to graduate by begging for notes without properly attending class, yet claims that Seol Nanyeong, who graduated high school, marrying a Seoul National University graduate is somehow 'reaching a place she doesn't belong' and something so uplifting that she would lose her mind over it. Does this mean that any woman who marries a man from a better university than herself is living a life beyond her means?"

Additionally, mentioning Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, and the Democratic Party, she said, "This is the face of Democratic-style K-progressivism. Twisted sexual consciousness and shameless academic elitism are problems, but if you get caught, at least try to apologize," she reiterated in her criticism.

Previously, on May 28, writer Yoo Simin appeared on the YouTube show "Kim Eojun's Dasboida" and remarked about Seol Nanyeong that "she is in a position as the spouse of a presidential candidate that she cannot handle, and she is out of her mind," in essence.
