On the 30th, Chungnam Province announced that it conducted the '2025 Summer Flood and Wind Disaster (Extreme Heavy Rain) Preparedness Tabletop Exercise' at the main conference room of the provincial government building.

The exercise was presided over by Shin Dongheon, Director General of Autonomy and Safety, and was carried out by virtually simulating disaster situations caused by concentrated heavy rainfall due to the climate crisis. It also included hypothetical scenarios based on actual large-scale complex damages that occurred last year in four cities and counties: Nonsan, Geumsan, Buyeo, and Seocheon.

Specifically, the exercise covered: ▲ activation of emergency response systems at both provincial and city/county levels in accordance with heavy rain advisories ▲ scenario reviews reflecting real disaster situations, such as on-site response and recovery processes ▲ establishment of a swift and accurate one-stop special recovery support system ▲ and support for the rapid return to daily life for residents.

Through this exercise, the province comprehensively reviewed interdepartmental cooperation systems, emergency recovery plans, expanded support measures for disaster victims, emergency supply management, and resource support systems.

Shin Dongheon, Director General of Autonomy and Safety, stated, "Based on the results of this exercise, we plan to improve our response and recovery manuals and enhance the effectiveness of our policies," adding, "We will establish a system that enables rapid response and recovery, leaving no gaps in protecting the lives and property of our residents."
