Chai Communication, a company specializing in AI-based digital marketing, announced on May 30 that it achieved a consolidated operating profit of 472 million KRW in the first quarter of this year, successfully returning to profitability. During the same period, the company also posted a net profit of 130 million KRW, marking a turnaround, while revenue rose 6% year-on-year to 11.2 billion KRW.
The company explained that this strong performance is primarily the result of the full-scale implementation of AI technology. Automation and efficiency improvements driven by AI have led to cost structure optimization and reduced labor expenses, which have been the main factors behind the improved profitability.
Chai Communication plans to continue strengthening its AI technology competitiveness. In addition to recently collaborating with global big tech companies to enhance the efficiency of generative AI-based content production, the company will further upgrade its own platform by introducing AI chatbot features and accelerate the expansion of both domestic and international clients.
A representative from Chai Communication stated, "We plan to utilize our integrated office building to expand our outdoor advertising business and diversify our business portfolio to maintain our growth momentum. As the share of the digital marketing market within the overall marketing industry continues to increase, we will actively target the digital marketing sector based on our AI technological capabilities."
He added, "We expect to secure significant advertising contracts in the second half of the year, which should drive revenue growth. Moving forward, we will continue to secure long-term growth momentum through technological innovation and expanded global partnerships."
