Busan Port Authority Publishes the 2024 Sustainability Management Report Detailing ESG Achievements and Future Vision
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sanggeun) has published the "2024 Sustainability Management Report," which details its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management activities and major achievements from the previous year.
On the 30th, the authority explained that this is the fifth report since BPA released its first in 2014, and that since 2021, it has been published regularly every year, transparently disclosing ESG performance.
Through the report, BPA introduced various efforts for the sustainable growth of Busan Port, aiming to become a global leader in comprehensive port services in the era of hyperconnectivity. The report was prepared in accordance with global ESG disclosure standards.
Last year, the authority promoted the transition to an eco-friendly port, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 20.5%, and achieved "zero" serious industrial accidents, focusing on creating a safe port environment. Its efforts to foster mutual growth with small and medium-sized partner companies were also recognized, earning the highest rating in the Shared Growth Evaluation for three consecutive years. The authority also continuously strengthened its anti-corruption management system.
President Song Sanggeun stated, "It is meaningful that we can transparently communicate the authority's ESG management activities and achievements to the public and stakeholders through the Sustainability Management Report," and added, "We will continue to lead the sustainable growth of Busan Port based on ESG management and strive to become a trusted public institution for the people."
This report is available to everyone on the BPA website.
