The district is promoting various redevelopment projects, including reconstruction, Moa Town, and urban public housing complex projects, to achieve balanced development between the new city center around Magok District and the aging old city centers such as Hwagok-dong.

However, due to complex procedures and diverse interests, residents have faced many difficulties in participating in actual projects. To address this, the district has organized a practical academy to enhance understanding of redevelopment projects and to build consensus on balanced regional development.

The curriculum covers topics such as understanding redevelopment projects, establishing associations, project implementation, management and disposition (appraisal), and disputes and key considerations. Experts in each field, including project consultants, lawyers, and appraisers, will serve as instructors, offering lectures based on practical experience and real-world cases.

The district expects that, through this academy, residents will gain an understanding of the concepts and procedures of redevelopment projects and develop the basic competencies needed to actively participate in future redevelopment and reconstruction projects.

Jin Kyohun, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, stated, "I hope this academy will serve as an opportunity to enhance understanding and consensus on regional balanced development, and to build practical capabilities for residents to take a leading role in redevelopment projects." He also called for the active interest and participation of residents.
