Yangsan City Launches Program to Support Naturalization Costs for Marriage Immigrants

Yangsan City in Gyeongnam Province will implement a program starting in June to provide financial support for naturalization costs to marriage immigrants residing within Yangsan City who acquire Korean nationality.

The program is open to marriage immigrants who have acquired Korean nationality on or after January 1, 2025, have been registered as residents within the city and have lived there for at least six months, and are married to a spouse with Korean nationality as of the application date. Each eligible household will receive 300,000 won to cover naturalization costs, with a total of 50 households to be supported this year.

Applications for the Marriage Immigrant Naturalization Cost Support Program can be submitted in person at the administrative welfare center corresponding to the applicant’s address starting June 2. For more details or inquiries, contact the Women and Youth Division of Yangsan City Hall.

Lee Seongmi, head of the Women and Youth Division, stated, "We hope this program will help alleviate the financial burden on marriage immigrants and provide them with an opportunity to settle as members of the local community," adding, "We will continue our efforts to support the stable settlement of the increasing number of foreign residents in the community."
