Gokseong-gun, South Jeolla Province (Governor Cho Sangrae), announced on May 28 that it will begin operating the Daehwanggang Adventure Facility, after recently improving the roadside walking trail in front of Gangbit Village in Jukgok-myeon and equipping the site with much-needed educational and convenience facilities.

The Daehwanggang Adventure Facility is a bridge connected by cables with a total length of 216 meters. It offers eight different experiences, including unique courses such as the Indiana Bridge, Chess Bridge, and Disc Bridge, which provide both thrilling moments and opportunities to foster a sense of adventure.

Last year, the facility was piloted as part of the "Gokseong Challenge" program, a hands-on tourism product designed to help visitors who enjoy exhilarating experiences develop a spirit of challenge and problem-solving skills, as well as test their own limits. The program received an enthusiastic response.

An official from the county explained, "Walking across the swaying cables while clipped into a safety harness offers a unique adventure, and this kind of facility crossing above a river is hard to find elsewhere. We hope many tourists visiting Gokseong will take on the challenge."

While experiencing the adventure facility installed across the Daehwanggang River, visitors can momentarily escape the complexities of daily life and enjoy a sense of liberation, taking in the dazzling sunlight reflected on the flowing river below and the tranquil scenery of the riverside mountains in the distance.

Beneath the adventure facility, a walking trail has been created along the roadside cherry blossom trees. There are also several small and large pocket parks nearby, providing places to relax and take photos with the gently flowing Daehwanggang River as a scenic backdrop.

Governor Cho Sangrae stated, "The Daehwanggang Adventure Facility is a place where people can develop a spirit of challenge and adventure, encourage one another, and come together as one. It is an exciting course that combines tourism, leisure, and sports, and it will be an unforgettable experience that anyone can enjoy."
