Samsung C&T Innovates Spaces Beyond Construction with Homeniq and Bynd Platforms

Platform Service 'Homeniq' Now Applied to Other Apartment Brands

Samsung C&T Innovates Spaces Beyond Construction with Homeniq and Bynd Platforms

Samsung C&T is pursuing sustainable growth by expanding its platform business, which integrates various solutions such as generative artificial intelligence (AI) and IT technologies. As platform services have become essential for residents, the company is enhancing its services and expanding their application to apartment complexes of brands other than Raemian.

In August 2023, Samsung C&T launched the next-generation residential life platform 'Homeniq,' followed by the commercial building platform 'Bynd' in October last year, accelerating the development of smart buildings.

'Homeniq' allows residents to check management fees and participate in surveys through the Homeground menu, and also supports communication functions for resident representative meetings. The advanced security system 'Homeniq One Pass' provides residents with a convenient and secure access environment. Additional features include control of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, reservation of community facilities, and registration of visitor vehicles. It also supports resident community activities through a communication board and offers necessary goods and services at reasonable prices through Homeniqers Club, Homeniq Tools, and Apartment Care.

Starting with Hanwha Construction Division in December last year, Samsung C&T has introduced Homeniq to other branded apartments, including Doosan Engineering & Construction, HS Hwaseong, and SK Ecoplant. It has also been applied to existing residential complexes, and over 60,000 households are currently using the service. In January this year, Samsung C&T proposed the adoption of Homeniq for Hannam District 4, where it was selected as the contractor. The company plans to further expand the Homeniq ecosystem by actively proposing its adoption for upcoming projects in Apgujeong, Yeouido, and other areas.

'Bynd,' another pillar of Samsung C&T's platform business expansion, integrates a wide range of services required in commercial buildings. Bynd supports approximately 100 services, including workplace environment monitoring and management, smart access, seat or meeting room reservations, and ordering and payment at stores within the building. It also includes numerous features for smart building management based on digital twin technology.

Administrators can use Bynd for facility management and real-time monitoring of building energy and both internal and external environments. General users can utilize the digital twin kiosk for functions such as controlling lighting and air conditioning, calling elevators, and reserving meeting rooms or shared seats. Bynd was implemented in the Aju Smart Tower in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, in December last year.

Samsung C&T stated, "We plan to lay the foundation for the platform ecosystem while continuing to expand differentiated services in the future."
