Found the 'Top' Teacher on Campus... Dong-Eui University Awards Outstanding Professors Based on Last Year's Course Evaluations

Faculty Performance Evaluation and Cash Awards Enhanced

Dong-Eui University (President Han Suhwan) announced on May 28 that it awarded the 'Best Teacher' certificate to 15 outstanding professors, based on the results of the 2024 course evaluations, at a ceremony held in the Global Conference Room on the second floor of the main building on May 27.

The selected outstanding professors include eight full-time faculty members and seven adjunct faculty members. The selection was based on lecture satisfaction by department and a standard for teaching passion.

In the full-time faculty category, the following professors were recognized: Lee Eunju (Department of Library and Information Science), Song Sujin (Department of International Tourism Management), Seo Yujin (Department of Nursing), Hong Suhyeon (Department of Korean Medicine), Jang Wonje (Department of Biopharmaceutical Science), Lee Junghwa (Department of Computer Software Engineering), Kim Jongok (Department of Design and Sculpture), and Son Myunggyun (School of Basic Liberal Arts).

In the adjunct faculty category, the following professors were selected: Kim Miryeong (Department of Chinese Language and Literature), Kim Jiwon (Department of Finance and Real Estate), Choi Eunok (Department of Food and Nutrition), Choi Jueun (Department of Game Engineering), Kim Jaeyoung (Department of Architecture), Jang Saeyeon (Department of Music), and Lee Huibeom (School of Basic Liberal Arts).

Dong-Eui University implements the 'Best Teacher' award every year to boost the morale of faculty members who give their best in teaching and to encourage innovation in teaching methods. Full-time faculty members receive additional points in the faculty performance evaluation, while adjunct faculty members are given a cash prize. Starting this year, a 'Best Teacher' plaque will also be attached to the offices of the selected professors.

A representative from Dong-Eui University stated, "The recognition of outstanding professors is meaningful as it encourages the enhancement of teaching capabilities and leads to qualitative improvements in education."

An award ceremony for outstanding professors in last year's course evaluations is being held at Dong-Eui University.
