Jindo Office of Education Distributes "Bobaeseom Treasure Hunt" Local Studies Textbook

The Jindo Office of Education in South Jeolla Province announced on the 28th that it has published and distributed the community learning support textbook "Bobaeseom Treasure Hunt" to schools in the district.

"Bobaeseom Treasure Hunt" is designed for students from the fifth grade of elementary school to the second grade of middle school, and aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of Jindo's history, geography, humanities, and society.

The textbook is structured to enhance students' understanding of the local area and to enable schools and village education communities to explore the region together. It encourages students to independently research their hometown and to conduct in-depth studies on local issues and future development plans.

Teachers from the Jindo area participated as authors in the development of the textbook, creating customized content tailored to the students' level. The authors stated, "We structured the textbook so that students can easily understand the history and culture of Jindo," and added, "We hope this book will help students discover why Jindo is called 'Bobaeseom' (Treasure Island)."

Superintendent Kim Mi said, "Jindo is a region where cultural heritage imbued with patriotic spirit and artistic culture coexist," and added, "With the publication of this textbook, we hope students will develop an understanding and affection for their region and grow into talents who will lead the community and the country in the future."

Meanwhile, the Jindo Office of Education continues to revise and develop the textbook each year by reflecting feedback from schools. In addition, in collaboration with Jindo County Office's "Jindo Love Golden Bell" project, it is promoting educational activities involving both schools and the local community, and is making ongoing efforts to build a local educational ecosystem.
