Seeking a Last-Minute Turnaround with Focused Campaigns in Incheon
Won Heeryong to Join Kim for Early Voting and Incheon Campaign Events
Kim Moonsoo, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, will participate in early voting at around 10:30 a.m. on May 29, the first day of early voting, in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, which is the constituency of Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate.
Shin Dongwook, head of the spokesperson group for the People Power Party's Central Election Countermeasures Committee, met with reporters at the party's headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul on May 28 and stated, "Candidate Kim will cast his early vote tomorrow (the 29th) in Gyeyang, Incheon."

Regarding the reason for choosing Gyeyang, Incheon as the early voting location, Shin explained, "We made a strategic decision because Incheon was the starting point for Korea's miracle after the Korean War, as the Incheon Landing Operation turned the tide of the war."
Shin added, "Many people at the site have said, 'We have only now come to realize the sincerity and strengths of Candidate Kim.' We will do our best over the remaining six days to create a turning point."
The party's central election committee especially commented that Kim's decision to vote early in Lee's constituency "reflects the intention to attempt a reversal starting from Lee's district during the public opinion poll blackout period (when the publication of presidential poll results is prohibited), aiming to achieve a golden cross (a reversal in approval ratings)."
After casting his early vote, Kim will campaign under the concept of 'Incheon Landing Operation: The Beginning of a Great Reversal.' According to the party's central election committee, Kim will pay respects at the statue of General MacArthur, hold campaign events at Freedom Park and Bupyeong Culture Street, and then visit Siheung, Ansan, Uiwang, and Anyang in Gyeonggi Province, which are both his political hometown and strategic regions for the People Power Party.
On this day, former Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Won Heeryong, will accompany Kim for the early voting and campaign. Won, who serves as the People Power Party's local chapter head for Gyeyang, Incheon, has consistently campaigned in the Incheon area throughout this presidential election period.
