Daejeon City announced that two areas, Taepyeong and Yucheon districts, have been selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's "2025 Small-Scale Housing Maintenance Management Area National Funding Support Project," securing 24 billion KRW in national funding.

The selected areas are 346-1 Taepyeongdong and 163-2 Yucheondong in Jung-gu, which will receive 9.2 billion KRW and 14.8 billion KRW in national funding, respectively.

These areas are densely populated with aging residential buildings and are in urgent need of infrastructure improvements. Plans will be implemented in stages, including road expansion, construction of parking lots, improvement of small parks and public green spaces, and installation of community facilities for residents.

The city plans to conduct a local fiscal investment review in the second half of the year, begin detailed design work in the first half of 2026, and then proceed with full-scale construction.

A Daejeon City official stated, "Securing this national funding is a meaningful achievement that can dramatically improve the living conditions of local residents," and added, "We will do our utmost to ensure the smooth progress of the project in cooperation with Jung-gu."
