Customized Support Including Front Door Safety Devices and CCTV

Yongsan-gu in Seoul is launching the “2025 Safe Equipment Support Project” to strengthen residential safety for single-person households and stalking victims. With recent increases in home intrusion and stalking crimes causing growing anxiety among residents living alone, the district is taking proactive steps to prevent crime through practical and tailored equipment support.

This year, the project will select and support 50 single-person households and 6 households of stalking victims. Single-person households will receive a mandatory front door safety device and can choose to install either a smart doorbell or a home CCTV system. To qualify, applicants must be single-person households residing in Yongsan-gu, have a jeonse or monthly rent deposit of 300 million won or less, and must not have previously received safety equipment support. Households with lower property values will be given priority.

For stalking victims, four types of equipment?a front door safety device, a smart doorbell, a home CCTV system, and a voice-activated emergency bell?will be provided at once to six households selected in cooperation with the police and other relevant agencies.

Applications can be submitted from May 26 to June 13 by visiting the Yongsan-gu Family Center (224-19 Itaewon-ro, 3rd floor) or via email (ysfamilyct@nate.com). Results will be individually notified after review, and the equipment will be delivered collectively by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

Park Heeyoung, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, stated, “We will continue to build a dense and effective local safety network so that residents living alone can feel more secure in their daily lives,” and added, “We will implement safety policies that each and every resident can tangibly experience in their everyday routines.”
