Gijang-eup in Gijang County and Gijang Hospital Collaborate to Provide Free Health Checkups for Vulnerable Groups

Gijang-eup in Gijang County, Busan provided free health checkups worth 800,000 won to three individuals from vulnerable health groups.

This initiative was carried out based on a welfare blind spot identification and support agreement with Gijang Hospital under the Seoil Medical Foundation. The support included a premium health checkup program, which consisted of basic tests as well as optional tests such as MRI scans.

Gijang-eup plans to provide additional public services, such as connecting patients to emergency medical welfare assistance and case management, through follow-up monitoring if any diseases are detected. This approach involves private hospitals and public institutions working together to offer integrated welfare services.

Heo Seonggeun, Director of Gijang Hospital, stated, "Although it is a small contribution, I hope it will provide practical help to those who truly need it," adding, "We will continue to pursue welfare projects that contribute to the local community."

Lee Sangsik, Chief of Gijang-eup, also commented, "Collaboration with Gijang Hospital has made our local welfare network even stronger," and added, "We will continue to work toward revitalizing welfare services through public-private partnerships."
