The archery team of Hongseong County Office has achieved a remarkable feat by winning an international archery competition.
The Hongseong County Office archery team, consisting of five members?Coach Lee Sungjin, Lee Euna, Kim Seyoun, Park Jaehee, and Han Sol?claimed victory with outstanding performance at the "2025 Gyeyang District Office Cup International Archery Competition," which was held over five days until May 24 at the Gyeyang Asiad Archery Field.
In the team event at this international archery competition, the Hongseong County Office team defeated Dongseo University in the round of 16, Hyundai Mobis in the quarterfinals, and LH in the semifinals. In the final, they faced Suncheon City Hall, demonstrating exceptional focus to win by a set score of 6-0 and secure the championship.
The Suncheon City Hall archery team had previously defeated Hongseong County Office in the quarterfinals of last year's National Sports Festival and went on to win the tournament. The team is considered a powerhouse, led by Paris Olympic gold medalist Nam Suhyeon. This time, Hongseong County Office's victory over such a strong team in a rematch added further significance to their win.
Lee Sungjin, coach of the Hongseong County Office archery team, said, "I believe this international victory is the result of the athletes enduring intensive winter training to prepare for the season," adding, "I am proud of the athletes for maintaining their focus and performing well even under pressure."
