Scheduled Fuel Replacement and Preventive Maintenance for Approximately 41 Days
Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (headed by Lee Seyong) announced that Hanul Unit 1 (pressurized water reactor, 950,000 kW class), which achieved two consecutive cycles of safe, trouble-free operation, halted power generation at 10:00 a.m. on the 23rd and began its 26th scheduled preventive maintenance, which will last approximately 41 days.
During the scheduled preventive maintenance period, Hanul Unit 1 will carry out equipment maintenance, facility upgrades, and fuel replacement. After completing various statutory inspections in accordance with the Nuclear Safety Act and receiving confirmation of compliance from regulatory authorities, the unit will obtain operational approval from the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission and is expected to resume power generation in July.
