NP Expands 'MUA' Meditation Experience to the Stage with XR Technology

NP, a company specializing in extended reality (XR) content, announced on May 22 that it has released new content expanding meditation?previously a solo immersive experience?into a group performance, in collaboration with Park Seola, the music director of the XR meditation app 'MUA'.

This project is notable for recreating the main virtual spaces of the HMD-based XR meditation app 'MUA' within the 'NP XR Stage'. Park Seola, who oversaw the music and narration for the 'MUA' app, performed a variety of meditation instruments live, presenting a performance that combined K-meditation music with harmonics meditation sounds from healing instruments around the world.

The performance was structured across three distinct spaces. The first space utilized the 'Querencia' section from the 'MUA' app to depict a cosmic cave. The second space visualized the inner transformation brought about by meditation through blooming lotuses and floating lanterns on a tranquil pond. Finally, the last space represented a journey into the vast universe, offering an experience that maximized sensory immersion through XR technology.

Within the XR environment of 'MUA', Director Park performed the app's featured track 'Wind of MUA' using Bangjja-yugi singing bowls and gongs, a 25-string Gayageum, Korean Gu-eum vocalizations, and healing instruments from around the world. Director Park said, "It felt as if the boundaries between reality and the virtual world disappeared while performing meditation music in a virtual space that unfolded all around me. While the MUA app provided deep immersion from a first-person perspective, what impressed me about the content filmed at the NP XR Stage was that this sense of immersion could be experienced collectively by many people."

NP CEO Baek Seungup stated, "We will continue to collaborate with creators from various fields to create unique experiences enabled by XR technology, seeking new possibilities for K-content."
