Employed Seven Interns in the First Half of the Year
Plans to Hire up to Thirteen Interns by Year-End
Busan Institute is drawing attention by providing local youth with practical job experience opportunities through its youth internship program, "Challenge, The Jobchae."
This program is operated as part of youth employment policies by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and Busan Metropolitan City. It targets university students and graduates in the Busan area, aiming to strengthen their job competencies and discover local talent.
Busan Institute has been expanding the scale of its intern recruitment each year. Starting with three interns in 2023, the institute selected six in 2024. In 2025, it has already hired seven interns in the first half of the year and plans to select an additional six in the second half, bringing the total to thirteen.
As a comprehensive regional policy research institute, Busan Institute offers interns the opportunity to participate in a variety of research projects that match their academic backgrounds and interests. By engaging in actual policy research and project planning, interns not only deepen their understanding of local issues but also develop practical skills.
What stands out in particular is the continuity and scalability of the internship program. In 2024, there were cases where individuals who completed the Busan City Employment Trainee Internship Program were re-employed through the "Miraenaeil Work Experience" program. This is evaluated as a model that goes beyond short-term jobs, leading to genuine career development and employment linkage.
Shin Hyunseok, President of Busan Institute, stated, "The youth internship program not only provides local talent with real opportunities for growth, but also enhances the institute's capacity for innovation and its contribution to the community, creating a win-win platform. We will continue to expand participation opportunities and strengthen the program's expertise to become a solid foundation for the growth of local youth."
Busan Institute plans to further advance its internship program in the future, positioning it as a key strategy for community development and fulfilling the social responsibility of public institutions.
