On May 16, Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Cho Sangrae) announced that it will provide support of up to 1 million won for the purchase of smart devices to enhance the convenience of ordering and payment for local small business owners.

With the acceleration of digital transformation, such as contactless ordering and payment, especially in the restaurant industry, the county aims to boost the competitiveness of local small businesses by supporting the distribution of smart devices. Applications can be submitted until May 30 by visiting the township or town office where the business is located.

Eligible applicants are small business owners whose businesses are located in Gokseong as of the announcement date and who have annual sales of 1 billion won or less. The county will cover 80% of the supply cost, up to a maximum of 1 million won, for the introduction of smart devices such as smart order systems, waiting boards, kiosks, and table order systems for each business.

Governor Cho Sangrae stated, "The digital transformation is rapidly advancing, especially in the restaurant industry," and added, "We expect that supporting local small business owners in adopting smart devices so they can quickly adapt to industrial changes and enhance their competitiveness will contribute to revitalizing the local economy."
