"Systematic and Tailored Psychological Support for Civil Servants"
Yeon Wonjung, Minister of the Ministry of Personnel Management, visited the Civil Servants' Mental Health Center at the Jeju Provincial Government Joint Office Building in Jeju City on the 16th and had conversations with the counselors.
The Ministry of Personnel Management announced on the 16th that Minister Yeon Wonjung visited the Civil Servants' Mental Health Center and the Jeju Labor Improvement Guidance Center of the Ministry of Employment and Labor to inspect their operations, aiming to address gaps in psychological support for civil servants in the Jeju region.
This visit was conducted to gather on-site feedback from the Jeju Civil Servants' Mental Health Center, now in its second year of operation, and to strengthen preventive psychological services.
The Jeju Civil Servants' Mental Health Center has counselors specializing in mental health and psychological hazard prevention stationed on-site, providing systematic mental health support to civil servants, their families, and the bereaved families of fallen civil servants. Since its opening in January 2024, a total of 1,379 civil servants have used the psychological counseling services at the Jeju Center over the past year.
During a meeting with labor inspectors from the Jeju Labor Improvement Guidance Center and the Jeju Occupational Accident Prevention Guidance Team, the participants listened to the psychological difficulties faced by labor inspectors in the field and explored effective support measures.
Minister Yeon stated, "The mental health of civil servants affects not only work efficiency but also both mental and physical health," adding, "We will continue our efforts to create an environment where civil servants can work with peace of mind through systematic and tailored psychological support."
