The Daegu Regional Office of Veterans Affairs (Director Kim Jongsul) is conducting on-site inspections of major memorial facilities in the region that have been selected as the 'Memorial Facility of the Month' in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation and Patriots and Veterans Month.

The Daegu Regional Office of Veterans Affairs has selected a total of 13 sites as this year's 'Memorial Facility of the Month' to honor the achievements of independence patriots and national merit recipients, and to promote a culture of remembrance within the local community. The inspections are being carried out with the director personally visiting each site to check the management practices and assess the preservation status of the facilities.
The on-site inspections began on May 2 with the 'Daegu Normal School Student Independence Movement Monument' in Dalseo-gu, Daegu, followed by 'Kim Changsuk Teacher's Birthplace' in Seongju-gun on May 8, and the 'Chilgok Patriots and Peace Memorial Hall' in Chilgok-gun on May 14. The inspections will continue in sequence, and major memorial facilities in the jurisdiction will be checked continuously until May 23.
Kim Jongsul, Director of the Daegu Regional Office of Veterans Affairs, stated, "We plan to promptly implement appropriate measures, such as providing support for repairs and renovations, for any improvements identified during the on-site inspections. We will do our utmost to systematically manage these facilities so that citizens can more closely engage with memorial sites and remember those who dedicated themselves to the Republic of Korea."
