Cheonan Selected for Rural Agreement Project... Secures 28.7 Billion KRW in National Funding

On May 15, the city of Cheonan in South Chungcheong Province announced that it has been selected for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' Rural Agreement project and has secured 28.7 billion KRW in national funding.

This project is implemented in a way that, when a local government establishes a mid- to long-term development plan for rural areas, the government provides integrated support for various projects necessary to revitalize living zones.

The city plans to invest a total of 41 billion KRW by 2029 to carry out eight projects, including the creation of basic living hubs, in order to improve the quality of life for local residents.

In particular, the city intends to expand resident participation in the policy implementation process, supporting residents to directly plan and carry out projects needed in their communities.

Kim Seokpil, acting mayor of Cheonan, said, "Through the Rural Agreement, we will strive to improve living conditions in rural areas and promote balanced regional development," adding, "We will inject new vitality into rural areas and create a more livable rural environment."

Meanwhile, on the afternoon of the same day, Acting Mayor Kim Seokpil and city officials attended the agreement ceremony at Amoris Yeoksam in Seoul, where heads of 21 local governments selected for the Rural Agreement from across the country were present.
