Skonec Entertainment, a company specializing in XR content, announced on May 14 that the release of its new mixed reality (MR) game "Traveler," developed in collaboration with Meta, is imminent. The two companies have finalized plans to introduce the game to the global market via Meta's MR platform, Meta Quest.
"Traveler" has been developed based on dynamic gameplay and a narrative structure that traverses both real and virtual spaces. With features such as real-time spatial recognition, story-driven mission progression, and a high-precision interactive UI, the game is expected to attract not only existing VR users but also new user segments as a strategic content offering.
Through this project, Skonec aims to solidify its position as a leading global content developer in the expansive MR market. The company is already supplying a variety of content to major global XR platforms, including Meta Quest, SteamVR, and Apple Vision Pro. With the upcoming launch of "Traveler," Skonec plans to accelerate its overseas expansion and diversify its revenue streams.
In particular, Skonec expects to generate visible profits from several projects starting in the second half of 2025, including the psychological horror game "Who's at the door?", the "Dr Pom, Traveller 3-in-1 Game Set," the "XR+AI-based Leadership Training Project" in partnership with Samsung Human Resources Development Center, the "AI+XR Meta Home Construction" project with LG, and the VR-based digital therapeutics device (DDTx) being co-developed with Dragonfly.
Additionally, the company is expanding its supply of XR training content to public sector clients such as the Ministry of National Defense and the National Police Agency, as well as accelerating its global expansion. Skonec explained that this year is expected to be a turning point for stabilizing its revenue structure and achieving external growth.
Park Woncheol, CEO of Skonec, stated, "Rather than focusing on short-term profits, Skonec has continued to invest and innovate to proactively respond to the sweeping changes XR technology is bringing to industries. We are currently undergoing a transformational period, and I am confident that these investments will inevitably lead to profits."
He added, "We will prove ourselves in the market with 'XR beyond games' and 'profitable XR.' This year will mark the beginning of Skonec's recovery of substantial profits and its leap forward as an industry leader."
