Chohongseok, CEO of Daehan Steel Co., Ltd., a specialized company in rebar processing and steel distribution, donated 5 million won in scholarships for juniors to Salesio High School in Gwangju. Provided by Gwangju Community Chest of Korea
The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (hereafter referred to as Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on May 13 that Chohongseok, CEO of Daehan Steel Co., Ltd., a company specializing in rebar processing and steel distribution, donated 5 million won in scholarships for juniors to Salesio High School in Gwangju.
The scholarship delivery ceremony was held at Salesio High School in the morning, attended by Chohongseok, CEO of Daehan Steel Co., Ltd.; Park Jiyoung, Principal of Salesio High School; Kim Yunha, Head of Fundraising at Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae; and other related officials.
This donation is an additional contribution from Chohongseok, a 31st graduate of Salesio High School, following his previous donation of 15 million won in scholarships last year. In total, CEO Cho has donated 20 million won to his alma mater.
The donated funds will be provided in full as scholarships to students currently enrolled at Salesio High School.
Chohongseok, CEO of Daehan Steel Co., Ltd., stated, "I made this donation with the hope of providing even a small amount of support to the talented individuals who will lead the future of our community," and added, "I will continue to fulfill my social responsibility through ongoing and diverse acts of sharing."
Meanwhile, Chohongseok, CEO of Daehan Steel Co., Ltd., joined the Gwangju Honor Society, a group of individual donors who have contributed more than 100 million won, as its 125th member in August 2021. He has continued his social contribution activities, including donating 10 million won to Yongjin Orphanage in April this year.
