The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) will hold the '2025 International Organization Entry Program Information Session' at Community House Masil in Jung-gu, Seoul on May 15.
This event, now in its second year following last year, is expected to be attended by about 120 young people and professionals interested in careers at international organizations. The session aims to enhance public understanding of KOICA's 'KOICA-UN Volunteers (UNV) University Student Volunteer Group' and 'KOICA Multilateral Cooperation Officer (KMCO)' programs, and to encourage participation in recruitment announcements scheduled for this month.
The KOICA-UNV University Student Volunteer Group offers internship opportunities in the field of development cooperation within UN-affiliated organizations to undergraduate and graduate students, supporting their entry into international organizations. The KMCO program dispatches individuals with expertise in specific fields to international organizations to support their career development, with no age restrictions. Of the 136 people who found employment at international organizations through KOICA's global talent dispatch program last year, 60 (44%) participated in these programs.
During the event, KOICA program managers will provide basic information on the global talent dispatch program and explain how to participate in the 2025 International Organization Entry Program. Alumni of the programs and current international organization professionals will also attend to share their experiences.
Jung Yoonkil, Head of KOICA's Global Talent Business Division, stated, "In April, the KMCO program signed a new memorandum of understanding with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), expanding the number of partner international organizations from eight to nine. We have also improved working conditions this year by increasing dispatch support funds. We will continue to make multifaceted efforts to expand opportunities for Koreans to enter international organizations, so we hope for your active participation and interest."
This year, the KOICA-UNV University Student Volunteer Group will accept applications until May 26, and will select a total of 21 participants through document screening and interviews. The KMCO program will also recruit applicants this month, with KOICA conducting the first round of document screening and the international organizations conducting the second round of interviews, ultimately selecting 20 participants. Anyone interested in careers at international organizations can attend the information session without prior registration.
