The citizen communication platform "Dajeong Gonggam Gongju," operated by Gongju City in South Chungcheong Province, has surpassed 5,000 citizen panel members, receiving an enthusiastic response from residents.

On May 9, Gongju City announced that the number of citizen panel members who have joined "Dajeong Gonggam Gongju" has exceeded 5,000, attributing this milestone to active promotional efforts aimed at expanding citizen participation.

"Dajeong Gonggam Gongju" serves as an online communication channel where citizen panels can present a variety of opinions on major municipal issues. The platform is operated with a focus on directly reflecting citizens' voices in municipal administration.

The city has carried out various promotional activities to gather a wide range of citizen opinions.

In particular, the city operated promotional booths at local festivals such as the "400-Year Injeolmi Festival" and the "Gongju Seokjangni Paleolithic Festival" to raise awareness of the platform. Additionally, online events utilizing social networking services (SNS) were held to encourage participation from younger generations.

Currently, "Dajeong Gonggam Gongju" is recruiting citizen panel members on an ongoing basis through its official website. Anyone aged 14 or older who is a resident of Gongju, works in Gongju, operates a business in Gongju, is a student in Gongju, or is an Onnuri Gongju citizen is eligible to participate.

Through this platform, three public opinion surveys have been conducted, including the selection of the "Top 10 Achievements of Gongju City Administration 2024" and a survey on Gongju City's image and awareness. This year, citizen participation votes are underway for the naming contest of the former Hoseo Theater and for the selection of outstanding proactive administration cases for the first half of 2025.

Yeom Seongbun, Director of the Public Relations and Media Office, stated, "'Dajeong Gonggam Gongju' is an open space where anyone can easily participate in policymaking. It serves as an important communication channel for solving public issues together with citizens," adding, "We look forward to your continued interest and active participation in the future."
