On May 7, children from Aehyang Daycare Center held a "Warm Sharing" event, delivering handmade carnations and homemade cookies to wildfire victims.
This act of sharing was organized to comfort those who are currently staying in temporary shelters and senior centers after being affected by the recent wildfires.
The children who participated in the event carefully handed over their gifts, saying, "I am happy to give the carnations I made myself to grandmothers and grandfathers," and "I hope this warms your heart," expressing their sincere feelings with a gentle touch.
Touched by the children's warmth, the wildfire victims were moved to tears and expressed their gratitude, calling it "an unforgettable gift."
Kim Jusu, the governor of Uiseong County, said, "The pure gestures of the children must have been a great comfort," and added, "We will continue to create opportunities for healing and recovery where different generations come together, so that small acts of sharing can resonate throughout society."
Meanwhile, Uiseong County plans to continue providing ongoing support for the swift recovery of wildfire victims, based on solidarity and empathy within the local community.
