Gyeonggi Fire Department to Hold Firefighting Children's Song Contest in June... Recruiting Teams Until May 9

The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters is recruiting teams to participate in the Firefighting Children's Song Contest scheduled for June.

On May 7, the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced that it will be accepting applications for teams to participate in the 26th 119 Firefighting Children's Song Contest, which will be held on June 19 at the Grand Theater of the Gyeonggi Arts Center in Ingye-dong, Suwon, until May 9.

The Firefighting Children's Song Contest is held annually to help children naturally learn about fire prevention and safety rules through songs, and to promote a culture of safety in everyday life. This year marks the 26th edition of the contest.

The contest is open to kindergarteners and elementary school students in Gyeonggi-do. Participants may perform original or arranged songs on the themes of firefighting and safety. Judging will focus on vocal ability, creativity, and overall completion of the performance.

The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters will livestream the event on YouTube, and the winning teams will represent Gyeonggi-do at the National 119 Firefighting Children's Song Contest to be held in September.

Kim Jaebyung, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, stated, "There are many ways for children to learn about safety, but children's songs are the warmest way to combine emotion and education. I hope this contest will be an opportunity for not only the children, but also their entire families, to reflect on the importance of safety."
