The Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation will provide up to 10 million won to support improvements in the working environments of companies employing foreign workers.
On May 7, the foundation announced that it is recruiting manufacturing companies within the province to participate in the "Migrant Worker Happy Workplace Selection Project" until May 13.
The Migrant Worker Happy Workplace Selection Project was newly established this year to improve the working conditions of foreign workers and to foster a corporate culture of mutual growth.
The project focuses on enabling foreign workers to work in safer and more respectful environments. Outstanding companies will be selected as "Happy Workplaces" and will receive up to 10 million won to improve workplace facilities and environments.
The recruitment targets manufacturing companies in the province with 50 or fewer domestic employees that currently employ foreign workers. The selection will focus on workplaces that go beyond simple employment and actively create safe working environments that respect the safety and human rights of foreign workers.
The foundation will select a total of 15 companies as Happy Workplaces through a document review, on-site inspection, and a review committee. Selected companies will receive between 5 million and 10 million won for environmental improvements, and will be certified as Happy Workplaces for two years.
Companies wishing to participate can apply through the foundation's "Jobaba Apply" platform (https://apply.jobaba.net/).
Kim Sunyoung, head of the foundation’s Global Center, stated, "A Happy Workplace is a place where foreign workers are respected and serves as a starting point for the joint growth of the local community and companies. Through the Happy Workplace project, we will actively support the establishment of a positive workplace culture on-site."
