Gyeonggi-do will hold the '2025 Gyeonggi-do Adoption Day Commemoration Event' at the Suning Leadership Center in Yongin on May 9, ahead of Adoption Day (May 11).
The event will be attended by more than 360 people, including adoptive families and related officials in the province. It is intended to raise public awareness of adoption and promote communication and solidarity among adoptive families.
Gyeonggi-do has prepared a special magic experience concert. In addition, the province will offer a variety of programs to foster bonds among adoptive families, including family introductions, presentations of adoption cases, educational programs, and a sports day.
In addition, Gyeonggi-do will conduct promotional activities to raise awareness about adoption from May 7 to 11. The first phase will take place on May 7 and 8 in the lobby on the first floor of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government building, featuring a photo exhibition of adoptive families, instant photo shoots, and an adoption awareness survey. The second phase will be held from May 9 to 11 at Hwaseong Haenggung Square, where an adoption awareness promotion booth will be operated. Visitors who complete a survey (via QR code) will receive a coffee voucher.
Yoon Youngmi, Director of the Gyeonggi-do Women and Family Bureau, said, "Adoption is a precious journey of creating another family," and added, "We hope this event will help spread a more positive perception of adoption."
