Kim Delivers Message of Unity by Paying Respects at Former Presidents' Graves
Lee Listens to Public Opinion in North Gyeongsang, North Chungcheong, and Gangwon

On June 3, the two leading presidential candidates?Kim Moonsoo of the People Power Party and Lee Jaemyung of the Democratic Party of Korea?are each reaching out to voters by meeting citizens in Gyeonggi Province, North Gyeongsang, North Chungcheong, and Gangwon on May 4, 2025.


As his first official event of the day, candidate Kim will visit the Seoul National Cemetery in Dongjak District, Seoul, to pay his respects at the graves of former presidents Syngman Rhee, Park Chunghee, Kim Youngsam, and Kim Daejung.


The purpose of visiting the graves of former presidents is to symbolically deliver a message of unity. Afterward, he will discuss campaign strategies with the party’s election committee.


In the afternoon, Kim will visit Jangja Village, a community of Hansen’s disease patients in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, and Uijeongbu Jeil Market to meet with local residents and merchants.


Since 2008, when he was governor of Gyeonggi Province and visited an unauthorized dyeing factory hidden in the Hansen village of Yeoncheon and Pocheon, Kim has built a relationship with the Hansen’s disease community.

On the same day, candidate Lee will continue his “Listening Tour in Every Alley” by sequentially visiting Yeongju and Yecheon in North Gyeongsang Province, Danyang in North Chungcheong Province, Yeongwol in Gangwon Province, and Jecheon in North Chungcheong Province.


On May 1 and 2, he visited border areas such as Pocheon and Yeoncheon in Gyeonggi Province, and Cheorwon and Inje in Gangwon Province. On the previous day, he visited the East Coast cities of Sokcho, Yangyang, and Gangneung in Gangwon Province to listen to public sentiment.


On this day, Lee is scheduled to visit the so-called “Danyang Palgyeong Belt” to meet with citizens and will also announce policy pledges to support self-employed business owners via Facebook.


Lee is also expected to conclude the first phase of his listening tour with a live online broadcast from Jecheon.
