Gokseong County and Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education signed a business agreement on the 30th of last month at the Office of Education Business Room for the successful construction of the (tentative name) Jeonnam K-Food Education Center. Provided by Gokseong County
Gokseong County (Governor Cho Sangrae) announced on May 1 that it had signed a business agreement with the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Daejung) on April 30 at the Office of Education Business Room for the successful construction of the (tentative name) Jeonnam K-Food Education Center.
The agreement was made to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions in order to smoothly promote the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education's (tentative name) Jeonnam K-Food Education Center construction project. According to the agreement, the (tentative name) Jeonnam K-Food Education Center will serve as a hub for nutrition and dietary education in the Jeonnam region, undertaking roles such as: planning and supporting nutrition and dietary education programs; operating student cooking competitions; providing cooking practice and training for school meal staff; developing and distributing meal menus; and conducting research on school meal policies. Gokseong County will support the construction of infrastructure such as access roads, as well as provide assistance with various permits and other matters related to the new construction.
The Jeonnam K-Food Education Center is scheduled to be newly built on a site of approximately 16,500 square meters (about 5,000 pyeong) at 341 Gwaesori, Samgi-myeon, Gokseong County, with a total project cost of 29.2 billion won, aiming to open in July 2028.
Governor Cho Sangrae stated, "The Jeonnam K-Food Education Center, which will be built in the future, will not only serve as a valuable educational space for children to learn healthy eating habits, but will also become a resource that drives regional innovation and development, nurturing young chefs who will inspire the world. We will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth progress of the construction project."
