On May 1, Lotte Mart announced that it will be selling 'Jeju GAP House Mandarins (500g/pack)' at a 2,000 won discount, offering them to L.Point members for 12,990 won at all stores until May 7.

These mandarins are house-grown in Seogwipo, Jeju, and were first harvested and shipped on April 28. As major supermarkets are increasingly focusing on fresh food as a core competitive edge, Lotte Mart plans to attract more customers and secure leadership in the large supermarket fruit market by proactively launching seasonal fruits in line with this trend.

The newly released house mandarins are grown using the 'Gaon cultivation' method. This method involves raising the temperature inside the greenhouse to create optimal conditions for mandarin trees, which reduces the impact of external weather conditions. In addition, to ensure the supply of high-quality house mandarins, non-destructive sugar content selection and artificial intelligence (AI) sorting processes are used, so that all products have a uniform level of sweetness.

This product has also received certification under the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) system. According to the company, potential hazards such as pesticide and heavy metal residues are managed annually from the production stage through to harvest and packaging, making the product safer and fresher.

Lotte Mart will also exclusively sell 'House Sinbi Peach (300g/pack)' at major supermarkets about three weeks earlier than last year’s launch date, starting on May 7. House Sinbi Peach is grown directly in a greenhouse by farmer Lee Yundo, the developer of Sinbi Peach and a recipient of the 'Korea’s Master of Agricultural Technology' award. The product will be available for 19,990 won per pack at a total of 10 locations, including Lotte Mart Zeta Plex Seoul Station branch and Zeta Plex Jamsil branch.

Kim Dahyun, MD (Merchandiser) of the Fruit Team at Lotte Mart and Lotte Super, said, "Ahead of the house mandarin shipping season, we prepared house mandarins from Jeju as quickly as possible," adding, "We will continue to strive to quickly source and provide high-quality fruits to our customers."
