Siheung to Provide Educational Activity Subsidies for Multicultural Elementary, Middle, and High School Students

Annual Subsidy of 400,000 to 600,000 Won
Usable for Bookstores, Academies, Study Rooms, and Study Materials

On April 30, the city of Siheung in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will provide annual educational activity subsidies ranging from 400,000 to 600,000 won for children of multicultural families residing in the city.

Siheung to Provide Educational Activity Subsidies for Multicultural Elementary, Middle, and High School Students

This program, which aims to expand educational opportunities for students from multicultural families, offers support amounts of 400,000 won for elementary school students, 500,000 won for middle school students, and 600,000 won for high school students.


The educational activity subsidy will be provided as NH Nonghyup Card (Chaeum) points. The subsidy can be used for educational purposes, such as visiting bookstores, academies, study rooms, and purchasing study materials. The usage period is until November 30. Any unused points after this date will be automatically forfeited.


Eligible recipients are children aged 7 to 18 (born between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2018) from multicultural families in Siheung whose household income is at or below 100% of the median income, but who do not receive educational benefits (for those at or below 50% of the median income). Children who are not attending school are also eligible for support.


The application periods are as follows: the first round is from May 2 to May 30, and the second round is from July 1 to July 31. Eligible applicants must visit the Siheung Family Center in person to apply. For details on required documents and other information, please contact the Siheung Family Center.
